Black cab vs mini cab

A weekly Time Out column pitting cabbies’ and taxi drivers’ opinions against each other. Black cab drivers are traditionally British-born Londoners while mini cabs drivers are often born overseas.

Mini cabbing is a popular entry-level job for those who’ve recently arrived, no matter what their previous profession, while black cab drivers train for between 2-4 years and learn the locations of some 25, 000 streets. Though both drive passengers to destinations, their experiences, backgrounds, beliefs and expectations are world’s apart. Though a series of topical questions Fiona revealed the contrast in attitudes between the two camps.
